The comedy show Archer makes use of the Konami code

October 18, 2014

The cartoon comedy show called Archer, which is one of the best there is out there has yet another secret. It seems the writers have done it again with the art of hiding things in their show, and this time it's none other than the Konami code. Yes, once again the famous code that games like Gradius and Contra made so popular has been hidden in the show using "hexidecimal" format. One of Krieger’s clones inputs the code to start a 3 hour count down by using the following numbers.

55-55-44-44-4C-52-4C-52-42-41

Decoding that sequence reveals that it's U-U-D-D-L-R-L-R-B-A

Coincidence? Not at all, as the writers likely did it deliberately, and in doing so reveals that they too are fans of Konami! So you fans of the comedy show Archer now know something else about it. It looks like the old Konami code strikes again, and is just a matter of time before it lands somewhere else.

Let's see, what do we have so far. The code being used in games, websites, Google Chromebook, Google Voice Search, and now Archer. Did I miss anything?
