Funny Metal Gear animation shows a parody of the ending to first game

April 15, 2016

Well, not the very first game, but the first "Metal Gear Solid" game that is. Back in the late 1990s when the brain child of Hideo Kojima first arrived on the Playstation 1, many fans of the famous tactical espionage action game were not too sure how the game would make the transition from 2D to 3D.

The Playstation represented a first in gaming history of bringing classic titles like MG to a world that was composed of polygons and 3D areas to sneak around in. For me I wasn't 100% motivated when I first saw screenshots of a game that had dominated part of my childhood and left me wanting more in future titles, and then it happened.

I bought my copy, took it home and stuck it in my PSX console. From the first few minutes of witnessing both voice acting and what seemed like "cinematic" cut scenes at the time took my breath away. I knew then I wanted to stick around and see what else transpired in the game.

Metal Gear Solid forged a place in the land of Playstation games, and since then has been both an inspiration for future MG games, and somewhat of a catalyst for other game companies to take a closer look at to make their own titles.

You can certainly see an element of MG in games like Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, and a few other stealth oriented games I'm sure will pop into your head.

Even though the series is considered both very story involved, and serious in nature, who says you can't have a bit of fun with something serious and make a few laughs along the way hmmm? That is just what happened with one video floating around on YouTube called "Metal Gear Meryl", a parody of the ending of the first MGS1 game.

Sure the animation might not be on par with what you're used to, but the point is to stoke a bit of humor you think? Bitter Strike Cartoons is their name, and making parodies of videos games is their.....game.

Well, you get the point, and this isn't their first Bar-B-Q if you know what I mean, and deserves a moment of your time even if you aren't a fan of the series. Take a look below and fire away in the comment section with your thoughts.
