H.R. Giger might sound familiar to you. His work stretched into the arena of the movie "Alien", and even now that he has died at the age of 74, you can easily see his designs extend into games like Konami's Contra series. Giger also had an influence in point and click adventure games like Dark Seed 1 and 2, both of which were released on the PC and Mac formats, Amiga CD 32, and even on the Playstation and Saturn formats as well.
Below, you can see some of the influence that was used in hit games like the Contra series. An "Alien" encounter indeed.
As reported by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, his death was apparently the result of injuries that resulted from a fall. Giger was reported to pass away later on while at Zurich Hospital.
