Konami says to fans that they will still make LovePlus games

March 19, 2015

For fans who can't get enough of the girlfriend simulator and dating games, fear not. Konami games development says that they will still be making games based on LovePlus and the Tokimeki series. Launched back in 2009 on the Nintendo DS, the title had sparked 180,000 copies sold in the first 6 months alone. Not bad at all for a game that the Japanese love so much.

So what is with the whole girlfriend simulator and dating type games that are so well received with Japanese gamers? They simply can't get enough of the style it delivers. So it seems it's just something that has to be experienced. After hearing the departure of producer and character designer Akari Uchida and Mino Taro left the company, the fans were wondering about the future of the series, and Konami responded with a statement about it.

“Konami’s LovePlus and Tokimeki Memorial series are valuable content that has been loved by our costumers for many years, and we will continue to produce and offer them, so please look forward to it, and we ask of you to continue to support the series."

As for the two behind the magic of LovePlus, they intend on freelancing and doing what they do best with their talents. As for Mino Taro, he decided to change his pen name to "Minoboshi Taro", which he will be using as a freelance illustrator for future work.
