Silent Hill character coslay part 3 - Pyramid Head

May 10, 2015

Time to press on to what has to be one of the most feared and often hated creature to encounter in the world of Silent Hill games. Pyramid Head has a deeply rooted origin, having been created by Masahiro Ito out of a necessity. What he wanted for this particular character was to make a dreadful enemy without a face, let alone a voice.

After being displeased with a few concept drawings of humans with face masks, he then drew a concept art of a monster with a Pyramid shaped head. The points on the head were to have been said to represent pain. The body of him was said to be somewhat masculine in nature as well.

Also known as Red Pyramid Thing, BogeyMan, or simply Red Pyramid, the well known creature from Silent Hill 2 was born out of the wishes of James Sunderland to be punished for the death of his wife Mary, whom he blames himself for her death. It wasn't his fault however, and while believing the death was on his conscience, Pyramid Head stalks him while wielding a huge blade, which you can later find in the game and make use of yourself.

The character has received numerous admiration for originality and design, while cosplay actors have went all out to look just like the real thing.

These cosplay acts are certainly no exception to the rule, and while I have seen some detailed acts in my day, these are some of the best the Internet has to offer. It makes you wonder what kind of material they are using for the head piece doesn't it?

Well no worries, as always I include a link to the source page, where you get some more information from the authors themselves. You're not the first to ask questions, and won't be the last so enjoy and leave your comments and feedback below if you wish!
