The evolution of Snake and the Metal Gear Ray machine

October 9, 2014

After well over 25 years of playing Metal Gear, and I've personally played every darn last one of them, Konami has released some nice new images recently. They basically show how the series has evolved over the years in terms of the Metal Gear Ray, Solid Snake, and even how big the maps were. Let's start with the last one first.

No need to compare any one title to another, as you can see the map for Guns of the Patriots is so much different than the first in the series. So here I was thinking that it was much bigger than that.

Wow, Solid Snake sure has gotten old over time, I mean  younger. I mean first old and then a bit younger. Somewhere along those lines.

The long time running series can't exist without this deadly machine. The history of the Metal Gear Ray machine, and how much it's changed in appearance over time. You don't want to meet this in a dark alley.

There are many people I've met out there that want to get into the series, but don't know where to begin. You can solve that problem by simply playing them in the order in which they were released. I know MGS5 takes place after Snake Eater and before Peace Walker, but the story can be complicated for some if you don't pay close attention.
