Just 9 more days until that time of year folks. What is on your wish list this year? It'll be something awesome like The Phantom Pain, or perhaps a PSVita or even a Playstation 4 right? Well in the land of jingle bells and snow covered mountains, sometimes you don't get what you want, and it ends up being something you despise.
Socks, check, a lousy shirt, ditto. But how about about a lame video game that sucks, and you can't take it back once it's out of the box. You never find that out until it's too late. Remember long ago, in a time far far away before there was Internet, we didn't have too many means of finding out if a game was good or not except through magazines.
We had to depend on these "review sections" in the magazines and hoped that the game we were interested in was even being reviewed at all. Most of all, how did we even know that the person reviewing it has the same regard or opinion for what the rest of us find attractive?
I actually saw a review site when Lords of Shadow came out that gave it a 2/5 rating, while every other site gave it a solid 4/5 rating. These days thankfully we have YouTube videos that aid us in deciding if a game is worth your hard earned money or not. But for those horrid memories from the past of finding out a game sucks only after buying it, here is someone that shares your pain.
The Angry Video Game Nerd has been around for years now, both making us laugh, and making us think. All with a healthy dose of potty mouth included for good measure. He basically "takes you back to the past", to relive terrible games that made you angry. Only he's doing all the work for us, while we get to sit back and be entertained.
He even has a full length feature film to back it all up. Talk about being a major achiever! So without further delay, here is somewhat of a Christmas special collection of bad games he reviews that some of you might remember, and all of us would rather forget. Here is also hoping you get that awesome game you've been waiting for next week. Merry Christmas to all!
