The top Komami arcade games to home console lands TMNT

January 12, 2015

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around for around three decades now. So why not pay some tribute to a legacy that is still making some waves today? For starters, Game Sack has put together a list of the top 5 arcade games to home console conversions of all time.

Back in the 8-bit to 16-bit days, having a perfect arcade port was a bit of a let down for some titles. Double Dragon had to make due with the lesser hardware offered by the NES system, while the same followed suit for other titles like Shinobi. TMNT however is a classic Konami game that did make the grade of arcade to console conversion without that much of a loss in either the graphics or game music department.

While TMNT lands in the top 5 for best arcade to home conversions, what else do you think belongs on the list?, Konami related that is. Feel free to send in your list or single game that should have made the grade. For me, there are a number of games that I wish had seen the light of day as a decent conversion for the console market.

A few come to mind like Ajax, X-Men, Sunset Riders, and Gaiapolis (ARC). Of course one can always make the argument that the hardware issue comes up short when doing a proper conversion. Just some food for thought. What else do you think should have made the list?
