So your used to playing the latest open world, high definition, incredibly detailed and beautiful game are you? Surely that's not the end of it all for you. Well I guess it depends on what age group you belong to it seems, as classic hits from the 1980's still have a special place and meaning for us old geezers. Yie Ar Kung Fu is probably one of those classic Konami games you may or may not have even heard of, but it's worth bringing up.
Not just because it was a tear jerking title that brings back old memories, but now you can actually play it in the palm of your hand. Yie Ar Kung Fu has managed to land on the eShop Virtual Console for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. Yes, Japan. So far they are getting a blast from the past, as there is no current mention if Konami will bring this classic gem to the front line for the rest of us. We'll just have to wait and see on that one.
The goal of the game is to defeat your opponents using the protagonist, just move the direction in a particular manner along with an attack button, and you perform different moves to fight. This one managed to also be released on other formats as well including Commodore 64 and the MSX system.
The classic game is set to be released tomorrow on the 19th in Japan for 500 yen.
Here is a high five to Konami for preserving another old but good gem like this one, and prayers that more will follow in the future. Check out a few items below if you want some more information. I believe the image above may or may not be the Arcade version, as it could be the NES version.
